Judge Callahan has set a date for the lawyers to meet with him to discuss scheduling. Before that, the lawyers must confer on an appropriate scheduling plan, called a Rule 26 conference, so named after Rule 26 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. The parties must then submit their reports this Friday and the subsequent scheduling conference will be held on March 8, 2012 at 9:30am. We hope to have some dates set at that time and I will report back that afternoon.-Mike Ganzer
Last week, we filed a Consent to Magistrate jurisdiction for the Hon. William E. Callahan Jr., US Magistrate Judge. Milwaukee County also filed its Consent to Magistrate jurisdiction so Judge Callahan will preside over this case. We are in the process completing our request for injunctive relief now that we know who will be hearing our case. We will be updating the blog at some point next week.
We are also gratified by the tremendous number of responses we have received from many reitrees from around the country. Many emails have been sent to me and I have kept those. I have received more than 100 phone calls. I cannot return all of those phone calls so I apologize to anyone who thinks I am being rude for not responding–there have just been too many calls. If anyone needs to contact me, please do so by email. –Mike Ganzer
